Hurricane season is during the rainy months, but Trinidad and Tobago are both located below the hurricane belt, and the islands generally experience less storm activity than some of the other islands in the Caribbean. The biggest problem with traveling to the islands during the winter season are the bugs, which tend to be worse during the rainy season. Vacationers should remember to wear plenty of bug repellent while enjoying the islands' gorgeous outdoors. The dry season is from January to May, when weather is colder in northern regions, and travelers come to take advantage of ample sunshine and warm Caribbean weather.
